A big city with plenty to do. Explore the freedom trail with historic sights from the Old state House to Samuel Adam’s gravesite, enjoy Americas past time at Fenway Park, visit the New England Aquarium, join sides in the pastry fight between Mike’s and Modern, or please your taste buds with authentic Italian food in the North End. There is something here for everyone.
Enjoy witches and all things evil? This is the town for you. Explore the witch museum and the graves of those involved in the Salem witch trials from the 1600’s. While in Salem you can visit locations from the filming of season 7 of Bewitched, the House from the movie Hocus Pocus, and visit the House of the Seven Gables. There are also multiple breweries and great places to eat. Salem is a short drive from Manchester, NH.
Want to get your outdoors on? This is the area for you. There are hundreds of hikes varying from easy to extremely difficult. You may still be able to see some of New Englands famous fall foliage on a drive down the Kancamaugas Highway. Weather depending, you may still be able to take the auto road up Mount Washington which is known for the worlds worst weather and currently holds the record for the strongest sustained wind, over 200mph! Warning, New Hampshire is aptly named “The Granite State”, hikes labeled moderately challenging on All Trails should be taken seriously.
If you are taking a few extra days in the area, Acadia National Park is approximately a five hour drive up the sea coast from Manchester. This is a great two-day trip to cross off one of Americas famous national parks.
