Lac d'Annecy
August is the perfect time to take advantage of the warm weather and swim in Lake Annecy. There are several public beaches around the lake, such as Plage d'Albigny and Plage de l'Impérial, where you can relax and cool off. Engage in water sports such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing on the lake. If you'd prefer to stay dry, options to tour the lake include boat cruises, biking along the trails beside the lake, or simply strolling the lakeside promenade. The stunning views of the mountains and the water are sure to leave you mesmerized.
Pont des Amours
This iconic bridge offers a romantic setting and beautiful views of the lake and the town. Legend has it that if you kiss your loved one on the bridge, your love will be eternal.
Local restaurants in Annecy
There are many restaurants in downtown and old city Annecy along the canals and streets such as Rue Saint Claire, Quai de l'Evêché, Rue Grenette. As August is popular month for tourists, we suggest making reservations. Note that most restaurants close between lunch and dinner.
Shopping in Annecy
Annecy has many stores, start on Rue Sommeiller and wander around the many side streets to the different shops.
Annecy Street Market
The Annecy market runs year-round every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday between 7 am and 1 pm along the Rue Saint Claire.

Le Palais de I'Île
Visit this picturesque 12th-century castle situated on an island in the Thiou River, which was once a prison and now serves as an art museum depicting the history of Annecy.
Cascade d'Angon
