I always wondered how I would meet my future husband. Never in a million years did I think it would be on a dating app, but here we are! Garreth and I met on a dating app called Tinder back in April of 2018. We clicked instantly! Before we ever had our first date, I was in Auburn for a wedding. I left a little early and ended up getting lost in the neighborhood I was staying in. I decided to call Garreth and that ended up being a THREE HOUR phone call! We had our first date at Sonic the following Monday. We were inseparable after that. Two weeks later I was in a wedding in Houston, TX. Girls being girls, the bridesmaids asked me if I thought he was the one; and merely three weeks in..somehow I just knew. The past (almost) two and a half years have been filled with many adventures, a lot of growth, and different seasons of life that have only made us value each other more and more. We are so excited for this new season of marriage and cannot wait to celebrate with you!
This year has been filled with so much uncertainty, but if there is anything Garreth and I are certain about it’s our love for Jesus Christ and our love for each other. When Covid-19 began shutting down our country, we decided we were going to get married and nothing was going to stop us. Places started to open and we decided to start looking at venues. From the moment we walked into The Gilded Oaks, I fell in love. There is a beautiful staircase leading up to the bridal loft and it is what dreams are made of! A few weeks later my best friend came to visit and I just HAD to show her the venue! Looking back now, the little moments leading up to it make me giggle because everyone worked so hard to keep it quiet. My sister and best friend were extremely concerned about my lack of lipstick. As we walk into the barn, I explain to the owner that Garreth is running behind. Unbeknownst to me, he was already there waiting at the bottom of the staircase. Before dropping down on one knee, he read 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. I was and still am so excited to say “yes” to the Godly man I have prayed for.
