Question

How to get to the venue

Answer

The Guadelupe Tuscany Resort is located in Braccagni, which is a small town in the Maremma region of Southern Tuscany. Since it is rather deep in the countryside, the best way to access the venue will be to fly into either Rome, Pisa or Florence and grab a train to the Montepescali station, or rent a car and drive to the venue. **IMPORTANT: Please let either Eliot, Caitlin, Louise Davis, or Mary Neal know if you need extra assistance getting to the venue.

Question

From Rome:

Answer

BY TRAIN: If you are flying into Rome, there is a short train that will take you from the airport to the main Rome Termini station, look for signs in the airport: https://www.italiarail.com/leonardo-express-roma-termini From there, you will want to buy a ticket to the Montepescali train station. This should cost around $16 and be an approximately 2.5 hour trip. You can either buy tickets at the station or book online in advance on websites like RailEurope.com: https://www.raileurope.com/en-us/destinations/rome-montepescali-train After arriving at the Montepescali station the Guadelupe Tuscany Resort is a 30 minute walk or a 6 minute taxi ride. *Please let Eliot or Caitlin know if you would like to arrange for a pickup from the train station and what time your train will get in as we will likely be able to arrange for several train station pickup runs throughout the day* BY CAR: From the airport it is an approximately 2 hour drive on one major highway (E80). Take E80 north towards Grosseto and exit at Montepescali. We strongly suggest purchasing an international data plan while in Italy if you are renting a car in order to use Google Maps for more precise guided navigation.

Question

From Pisa:

Answer

BY TRAIN: If you are flying into Pisa, there is a shuttle that takes you from the airport to the Pisa Centrale train station every 5 minutes. From there, you will want to buy a ticket to the Montepescali train station. This should cost around $15 and be an approximately 1.5 hour trip. You can either buy tickets at the station or book online in advance on websites like RailEurope.com: https://www.raileurope.com/en/destinations/pisa-montepescali-train After arriving at the Montepescali station the Guadelupe Tuscany Resort is a 30 minute walk or a 6 minute taxi ride. *Please let Eliot or Caitlin know if you would like to arrange for a pickup from the train station and what time your train will get in as we will likely be able to arrange for several train station pickup runs throughout the day* BY CAR: From the airport it is an approximately 1.5 hour drive on one major highway (E80). Take E80 south towards SP152 in Grosseto and get off on the exit toward Braccagni/Fiera. We strongly suggest purchasing an international data plan while in Italy if you are renting a car in order to use Google Maps for more precise guided navigation.

Question

From Florence:

Answer

BY TRAIN: The Florence airport does not have a train station attached, but there is a shuttle that can take you from the airport to the main train station in Florence - Firenze Santa Maria Novella - for about 6 Euro. You can also take a taxi to the station from the airport. From there, you will want to take a train to the Montepescali train station. Some trains are much faster than others, the fastest direct trains will take around 2.5 hours and should cost around $20. In order to avoid the slower trains it is probably a good idea to plan out which train you would like to take and purchase tickets online before departing for Italy. There are several websites that allow you to book tickets online such as Rail Europe or Trainline: https://www.thetrainline.com/en/train-times/florence-to-montepescali After arriving at the Montepescali station the Guadelupe Tuscany Resort is a 30 minute walk or a 6 minute taxi ride. *Please let Eliot or Caitlin know if you would like to arrange for a pickup from the train station and what time your train will get in as we will likely be able to arrange for several train station pickup runs throughout the day* BY CAR: From the airport it is an approximately 2 hour drive either by cutting across to Pisa and taking the E80 south or going directly south through Siena. We strongly suggest purchasing an international data plan while in Italy if you are renting a car in order to use Google Maps for these routes as they can change based on traffic conditions. Google will provide more precise guided navigation based on the current conditions.
