How We Met

December 23, 2016

We met through a mutual friend of ours – the Internet... It was love at first swipe.

The Proposal

April 21, 2019

After a day of exploring the Windy City together, we returned to our room to get ready to meet up with the family for dinner. While waiting for my flat iron to heat up, we were just being silly and cracking jokes. I took my hair tie off of my wrist and proceeded to recite ridiculous vows to Justin. He accepted with "I do" and I placed the hair tie on his finger. He got excited and said it was now his turn. He began reciting his own vows. As I said "I do", he went to put the hair tie on my finger and then stopped and said, "Wait, this hair tie isn't going to work. I think I have something better." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring box. A RING BOX! At this point I don't even know what the ring looked like because I was laughing and ugly crying at the same time. I was totally caught by surprise. Although our proposal wasn't the picture perfect one Justin planned in the park, I couldn't imagine a more perfect way for the two of us to start the next chapter of our life together. Beautiful, awkward, and full of laughter.
