Take a stroll down the super pedestrian friendly Chicago Riverwalk. Stop for a drink at City Winery, Tiny Tapp, or Island Party Hut and watch the boats and kayakers go by. This is a easy 10 -15 minute walk from both hotels.
Our favorite activity to do with out of town guests! Take a tour down the Chicago River while learning all about our famous architecture. Pack your sunglasses and grab a drink in the lower level of the boat. Would be a great activity for Saturday morning/ afternoon before the wedding.
This is the neighborhood that Rachel and Jake live in and enjoy a gorgeous view of the park and lake. A great area of this city to explore on a nice day. Walk through the park, the free zoo, the lakefront, or the conservatory.
A hot spot for new restaurants and bars. We recommend planning ahead and making a reservation if you don't want a long wait for dinner. Some of our favorites are Joe's Imports, the Hoxton rooftop for a drink, Green Street Smoked Meats, or Ramen-San.
Pizzeria Portofino is located directly on the Chicago riverfront with great salads, pizza, and coastal wines. Just a 10 minute walk from The Gwen and a 15 minute walk from The Sheraton. Perfect for lunch or dinner but make sure to make reservations ASAP since it is a popular summer spot.
Our favorite Chicago deep dish! So good we picked it as our Valentine's Day date night spot one year. Expect a wait but they have a bar next door where you can grab a drink.
If you're looking for a nice sit down dinner, this spot is perfect. We went here for one of Rachel's Birthday's and absolutely loved it. We recommend the cacio e pepe!
