It all began when Samantha was in her final year of Medical School and Travis was working as a nurse in Fort Lauderdale. For a few weeks, they exchanged texts and phone calls while Samantha was away on her Ob/Gyn Residency interviews. They had made plans for a first date, but Samantha got a surprise visit from Geoff, a close high school friend who was down from New York. At the same time Alyssa, her best friend and a brand new mother, decided she wanted to spend a little time with her old friends. Samantha was certain that Travis would think she was bailing on him, but to her surprise, Travis joined them at World of Beer for their first date in the company of Samantha's two closest friends. This wouldn't be the last time that Travis took a leap of faith for their relationship.

On December 21 2017, Samantha and Travis made their relationship official. It had always been Samantha's dream to travel to Europe after graduating from Medical School. Travis and Samantha embarked on a two-week, whirlwind trip through Europe, after only dating for five months. Shortly after returning home from this amazing trip, Samantha relocated to North Carolina to begin her Ob/Gyn Residency. Upon completing a year of ICU experience, Travis moved to North Carolina to join Samantha. After moving, Travis continued to pursue his dream by applying and being accepted to CRNA school.

Their next travel adventure was a week spent exploring the major sights and cities of Spain and Portugal. Samantha didn't know but Travis had something very special planned. After a day of exploring the beautiful city of Madrid, they headed to Temple de Debod to watch the sunset. Travis had arranged for a photographer to capture the moment as he got down on one knee and asked Samantha to marry him. The adventure continues, as together they are "Building the Bridges". Samantha and Travis cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day with all their friends and family!
