A small family owned Japanese restaurant. One of our favorite places to visit because of how great and authentic the food is. They have everything from sushi to tonkatsu (fried pork) and Ramen (Japanese noodle soup). They have unique hours so please make sure they are open before going. We recommend arriving early as there is often a wait.
One of the more unique restaurants we have been to, Cowfish is a place that serves a fusion between burgers and sushi. The food there is great and we highly recommend any of the burgushi items on the menu, however if you aren't feeling adventurous, they also have great burgers and standard sushi.
A unique bakery with great pastries and cakes. Their food is good as well! This is one of Sarah's favorite places in Charlotte. There are a few locations around Charlotte. The one listed is closest to the recommended hotels, however Sarah's favorite location is the one located closer to downtown Charlotte on N Davidson St.
Cowbell has a large selection of whiskey, some good cocktails, and some great burgers. It is found in downtown Charlotte. We highly recommend visiting and trying some of their burgers. We haven't had one we don't like. Although we believe they have a kid's menu, the atmosphere can be a bit loud sometimes and so we wouldn't normally recommend brining your young kids.
The Whitewater Center is a great place to go for some outdoor adventure. They have various things to do from some walking and running on trails to rafting and rope courses. The cost varies depending on what you are doing though there is an initial cost for parking. Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays during the summer, they host live music starting around 6:30pm with no additional cost. Go to their website for more details.
