For those of you that don't know, I met Jacob on POF, known as the dating site: Plenty Of Fish. I messaged Jacob first, after a few unsuccessful dates, not knowing that Calhoun, KY was 3.5 hours away. Jacob offered to drive up to Lexington, KY to take me on a date. At first I thought "maybe he's a serial killer, what if he's weird" and then I said "why not." This date consisted of Texas Roadhouse, mini golf, and a drive-in movie, which was a first for me. After the drive-in movie, Jacob dropped me off at her house and the rest is 8 years of history. First it started with only seeing each other once a month for the first year and a challenging long-distance relationship. The second year, weekends were traded between Lexington and Calhoun. The third year, Jacob spent more time coming to Lexington because I didn't want to drive 3.5 hours (shocker). The fourth year, Jacob sold his house, got a job close to me, and we moved in together, faced many challenges and got our first dog together, Badger. The fifth year, we moved to a small farm in Stamping Ground, KY and lived together without roommates and then proceeded to buy our own farm in the heart of Georgetown, KY. The sixth year, he proposed, and the farm filled with more renovations and certainly more animals than we have time for (3 dogs, 5 horses, 8 ducks, 8 chickens, 2 turkeys, 2 goats.) The seventh year we spent no time planning our wedding and continued doing things we love (the bourbon trail, extreme whitewater rafting, camping, riding ATVs, ziplining, lake days, adventures with the dogs.) As we approach year 8, we are finally getting somewhere on our farm as well as enjoying life doing things we love together. So, I guess it's time to finally get married. So please join our chaotic life and come along for the ride.
