In June 2017, we met at our friends’ housewarming party! Our friend Molly told us both, “I have someone I want to introduce you to!” We politely said hi and then went to hang out with our friends, not thinking anything of it. However, we ended up talking as the afternoon went on. After a few weeks of texting, we had our first date at the first annual Boston Pizza Festival and we’ve been eating pizza together ever since!

Each year before Christmas, we go out to dinner to celebrate together and exchange a few presents at home before traveling for the holiday. Since Christmas is Brynden’s favorite holiday and we were traveling to Missouri for Christmas, Jack thought it would be perfect time to propose! Brynden was completely unaware… and inadvertently tried to ruin it several times. The day started at the Fenway Bowl game with friends that Brynden insisted on going to. Jack was more hesitant and Brynden could not figure out why Mr. Social was dragging his heels about hanging out with friends. Once the game ended, Jack was ready to get home and relax before the evening… and Brynden insisted they go get something to eat with friends and then casually mentioned a few errands we needed to run on our way home. Once we finally made it home an hour before our reservations, Jack got ready for dinner and Brynden crawled into bed to take a nap. We did finally make it to our dinner reservations on time, despite Brynden’s best efforts. After dinner, we sat down to exchange 1 small present each. Brynden opted to open first, opening up a clothing box. But inside was the ring box. We both fumbled over words a little bit, with Brynden asking, “What is this? Who is this for?” And Jack answering, “You know what this is!” But finally, Jack asked and Brynden said YES! In case you were wondering, Jack’s present was small rechargeable handwarmer.
