Please continue to address the bride as Bryn Larson and the groom as Jacob Johnson. Jake and Bryn considered going by either the LarJohns or the Son-Sons, but at the end of the day decided that neither the bride nor the groom would be changing their last name.
Jake and I's first meeting was all about chance (or destiny, or fate--it really depends on what you believe in). It was the last week before finals, and I had chose to spend my time outside studying. About midway through my study session, I was interrupt by someone saying hi--to be honest, I was not committed to studying and welcomed the interruption--I waved hi back to the handsome stranger, and he promptly came over to talk. We ended up talking for over three hours! Our fated meeting was followed by many dates (the first one being at a gas station). Jake and I have been together for 6 years now, and within that time we've both completed our undergraduate degrees, began our first careers, adopted our first dog (Lucy), and bought a house. We are now starting our next adventure—marriage!
I first met Bryn Spring semester at North Dakota State University towards the end of my first year there. It was "Dead Week", which is the week of study before finals. As I had most of my finals done early, I was enjoying the lovely weather that had moved in. I was coming back from supper at the dining hall with a fellow co-worker from the dining hall, ready to go in and play video games with friends for the night. On my way in I noticed two ladies sitting on a blanket on the lawn between my apartment building and a nearby one. I casually asked how their studying was going and was caught off guard by more than a common one word response of "good". I had to continue the conversation, as most people know I am a social person who can't go anywhere without talking to someone. I ended up talking to the beautiful girl who told me her name was Bryn. 15 minutes turned into 3 hours of talking, laughing and good conversation. I knew that she was comfortable with me once we both shared similar stories of travel to Ecuador that ended in gastric issues for both of us... A friend, Tom Rasmussen, from the NDSU trap shooting team happened to go by with his girlfriend and struck up a conversation with me. Tom was a true wingman and vouched for me, saying something to the effect of "Don't worry, he's not a random weirdo". After meeting up after work many times in the summer and having her as a date at a wedding, I asked Bryn to be my girlfriend. Thus began our 6 year relationship that blossomed into our soon to be marriage.
