We met on the first day of college orientation at Colorado Christian University in 2020! Cooper claims Bryn looked "mean" upon first sight because she "was wearing a University of Texas shirt"... don't worry folks: Cooper is now a longhorn fan and does not think she is mean anymore (most times). After a school-wide BBQ dinner surrounded by our new best friends, we began a friendship while discussing common music tastes. Bryn quickly developed a crush after Cooper successfully recited the back of a sriracha bottle (don't ask why this is. She does not have a solid answer). After a handful of conversations circulating the topic of dating, Bryn admitted she wanted to wait a semester to date, but was very honest that she had a "fat crush on him" (she said this verbatim by the way). But once we were back in school for our second semester, Cooper was quick to call her dad for permission to ask Bryn out! Over a "pho" dinner date (that really turned out to be ramen), our dating relationship was official on January 17th, 2021 and has been awesome ever since :)

We dated for 3 years before getting engaged, and have had lots of awesome moments in between! Some of our favorites include grilled cheese and chocolate chip cookie bake offs (Bryn claims she won both but it was a very close tie), a hectic first Valentines date with Cooper's wild haircut, driving range dates where Bryn hit 3 people on accident (she has since gotten better at golf, don't worry), a spring break camping trip where we said we loved each other for the first time, 3 summers of long distance that were filled with countless facetime calls, tons of concerts, trivia game nights with friends where we dominated as a team, lots of trips home to Texas and Minnesota together, and tons of laughs along the way!

On February 10th, Cooper spun an elaborate white lie in order to get Bryn to the Denver Botanical Gardens after her opening shift at the coffee shop she works at. With the help of some of our best friends, Bryn was completely derailed of any suspicion she had that morning. He led Bryn around the snowy gardens as she complained of the cold (typical of her Texan nature) until they were alone. Cooper purposefully stepped on his shoe lace and waited for Bryn to comment on it... she eventually did, he tied his shoe, and then began a sweet speech while pulling out the ring! Bryn was shocked, and continued to be as Cooper led her home to a surprise engagement party where both of our parents and best friends were waiting! Now we are overjoyed to celebrate the growth of our love story with y'all in August! :)
