When we first started planning our big day, we excitedly booked our venue on a lake and made plans for a brunch wedding. Then the pandemic continued showing no mercy. Bryggs and I both had Covid in October and decided we didn't want to put anyone at risk...so we chose elopement! Now we are excited to be able to share our special day with you virtually in hopes we will all be able to be together again soon. Thank you for supporting us from a distance and we can't wait to hug you all in person soon.

We first connected on Instagram. Caitlin was featured on a page they both followed and Bryggs slide into her DMs commenting on her tattoo. We have been talking every since. Our first date was at Wal-mart. Yes, Wal-mart. Caitlin was planning an epic 30th birthday party and had unsurprisingly left much work to that day. She also scheduled a first date on the same day-someone get this girl a personal assistant! Bryggs earned a permanent place in Caitlin's heart when they accompanied her to the store and helped her gather the many very random items including a helium tank and canned jackfruit.

I knew Bryggs was the one after I read a book called “All About Love” by Bell Hooks and came across this passage… “As a society we are embarrassed by love. We treat it as if it were an obscenity. We reluctantly admit to it. Even saying the word makes us stumble and blush…Love is the most important thing in our lives, a passion for which we would fight or die, and yet we’re reluctant to linger over its names. Without a supple vocabulary, we can’t even talk or think about it directly.”- Diane Ackerman. “I felt this so deeply and felt as though I had waited my whole life for Bryggs” - Caitlin It came in waves of realizations. The first was on our third date we had a deep talk about our futures and what we wished for themselves. The second wave was at a music festival we attended in Iowa with good friends of ours. Cait loves music – and music loves Cait. It was not long after that I realized Caitlin was the one for me.- Bryggs
