Great for hiking, checking out the ski trails, and some amazing food. -Take the tram up to the top of Alyseka for some of the best views around -Jack Sprat, Chair Five, and Double Muskey all have delicious food -A favorite hike of ours is Shoot'n'Ladders, but you'll have to do some research to find this hidden trail
Eagle River is just north of Anchorage with some great hiking opportunities! -Hike Mt. Baldy -Enjoy local brewskies at Matanuska Brewery (great pretzels and beer cheese) -Visit the Eagle River Nature Center
Our favorite spot to have a mini-vacation has always been the Talkeetna / Denali National Park Area! -Mile High Pizza Pie -Spinach Bread Trailer (fingers crossed it's there the day you visit) -Denali Brewery (home of the famous blueberry mojito) -Hike Curry Ridge (amazing views of Denali on a clear day) -Hike Mt. Healy (easy summit inside of Denali National Park) -49th State Brewing (we strongly believe the Healey location is the better location)
If you continue south of Girdwood you will enter the Kenai Penisula. Here you will find summer coastal towns like Whitter, Seward, and Homer. These are great areas for wildlife cruises, sea kayaking adventures, or trying your hand at some Alaska fishing!
Interior Alaska is where we call home! If you make the journey north along the Glen Highway make sure to stop at Matanuska Glacier. Visit Fairbanks for the hot springs, Copper Center for the salmon, and Delta Junction to see our little community.
