we are getting married!

The day started like any other; Brooke was in her junior year at WKU, and Bryce had just transferred to WKU after spending two years at Henderson Community College. Brooke had been teaching one of the two physics classes that she taught that semester. The class had finished early, so she started to long trek down the infamous Hill. She walked into her dorm and started up the stairs to her room on the second floor. To her surprise, she ran into two other students in the stairwell; one of those students was Bryce. Brooke had been listening to music, but it had started buffering so she caught a small part of the two student's conversation. They were talking about such an odd topic, bathtubs, Brooke couldn't help but to chime in. That conversation was the start of it all. Soon after, they began to talk about Bryce's room and roommate. He spoke about how he had just got to Western and moved into the dorm. Brooke suggested a way to make Blake, Bryce's roommate, and Bryce's room more comfy and more like home. She invited Bryce and his friend back to her room to show them the lay out. The four (Brooke, Bryce, Bailey, and Trevor) exchanged Snapchats and the two boys left. About a month later, Bryce reached out for help in physics. The rest is history. Brooke, Bryce, Bailey, Blake, and a few others became inseparable; finally, Brooke and Bryce started dating in March of 2019. They both look back on that day and laugh about how bathtubs brought the two together, but they are so very glad that it did.

There is some back story to the story of Brooke and Bryce's engagement. Soon after Brooke and Bryce became friends they found out that Pam's, Bryce's mom, birthday was the day before Brooke's. It soon became a "tradition" that Bryce's family and Brooke would get together in Owensboro and have dinner, since it was in the middle of everyone. This specific birthday was unlike any other. Everyone decided to meet in Owensboro the weekend before Brooke and Pam's birthday. Since the family was about to welcome a new baby into the family, Bryce suggested that Brooke "look nice" since Pam would probably want a picture of all her children together. To anyone close to Brooke, she had her suspicions, but thought it was happening in the weeks to come. The couple traveled to Owensboro without any indication of what was to come. They laughed and sang and danced and acted goofy.....just like normal. The couple arrived on the RiverFront; the restaurant was a block away and parking was scarce so they decided to park on the river and walk. Bryce called his parents to see how close they were to the restaurant, but they were about 10 minutes away. The couple started walking down the riverwalk just like they had done so many times before when Brooke lived there during her program. They began to walk down until the reached the large amphitheater. To Brooke's surprise, but not really since Bryce knows everyone, they ran into Bryce's cousin Tiffany. She was taking pictures of the river and the fountains. Brooke's suspicion rose, however, didn't get her hopes up just in case it was the moment she had been waiting for. Tiffany began taking pictures of the couple, and Bryce dropped to his knee. The moment was a whirlwind for the couple, but of course she said YES! The families ran down the riverwalk to celebrate with the newly engaged couple. They all shared a wonderful dinner. It was the most perfect day!
