I first heard Keziah's name come up in a Branch Presidency meeting (we were just going over the names of records that had been moved into the branch). I thought, "That's a cool name." A few weeks later, I was introduced to her at a Dungeons and Dragons session. She was wearing a geeky T-shirt and a plaid wool cap and was definitely an experienced gamer. I thought, "This is someone I might want to get to know a little better." It took me a few weeks to finally ask her out (to the Branch Christmas Party), but if I knew then that, a little over two years later, she would say yes to the most important question of our lives, I know I would have found some way to muck it all up.
About a week after I moved to Indiana, I made it to the local institute class. As I was hanging out in the lobby waiting for class to start, this guy sitting on the couch gestured to my shirt (a lovely yin/yang with D20s) and asked if I played DnD. I responded in the affirmative and enthusiastically asked him if there was a local group I could join. I had been suffering withdrawals since leaving my group at BYU some years before. He said yes and I was invited to join theirs. It was at this group that I met Bryan. I'd seen him at church before, but never really talked to him. After a few sessions of DnD, he asked me out. The rest is, as they say, history.
