How it all began

Ohio State, 2014

On a very cold night at Ohio State during a Michigan State game, Jess was persuaded to go into one of her least favorite bars. When she arrived, she immediately was relieved to see a roaring fire to keep her warm (this is what Bryan now calls "Uber-Jess" season--where Jess ubered everywhere because she hates the cold). One of Jess's good friends picked her out the perfect spot to stand by the fire, next to a cute boy who decided to make an introduction. The rest of the night was filled with conversation, half caring about the game anymore. Fast forward now a bit. A couple years passed before Jess and Bryan would lock things in for good. They grew into their adult-ish (ish because let's be honest we are still children) selves, graduated college and started their careers. One night, Bryan was in Columbus for a game and decided to take a leap to text Jessica. From this point on, they were inseparable.

The Proposal

Alm's Park

Bryan had been showing pictures of rings to Jess to get her opinion. Jess knew that the question was coming but though there would be more months of searching for the perfect ring. Little did she know, he was in the final stages of picking out the ring and had already talked to her parents. One evening Bryan urged that they went on a walk. Of course Jess agreed because she rarely ever passes up a hike. Once in the woods at their special spot, where there is a beautiful tree that is growing sideways and that always has a special feeling to it, Bryan stopped. Jess's mind was swirling, "why is he sitting down, this is a hike!". He then proceeded to say, "I need to tell you something." At this point, Jess's heart dropped. What was wrong?! This sounded bad. Then he got down on one knee and she was both relieved and in complete awe. Of course she said YES as they shared this moment together, alone at one of the most magical places in Cincinnati.
