FAQs

We will be updating this page with more and more information as we get closer to the event, so please continue to check back here.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please do your best to RSVP no later than April 15, 2020 through the Paperless Post "Save the Date" sent out in the beginning of February.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be a getaway for you!

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

If you want to enjoy all the Baja has to offer, we would advise that you stay minimum 5 days (not including travel days). This will allow you to enjoy a beach day, snorkeling, art walk in the town, potential trip to Cabo Pulmo (2 hour drive), deep sea fishing, surfing, the list goes on. Although time seems to stand still here, it actually flies by really fast. We usually go for at least 10 days. If you can't stay that long, we completely understand and are grateful you are joining us for whatever length of time you can!

Question

How do I get from the airport to my hotel?

Answer

We recommend pre-booking your airport transportation through https://www.transcabo.com. The cost is $16 per person or $84 for private a van up to 7 people. The shuttle will take you directly to your hotel. Otherwise, a taxi costs about $40-$50 and you must negotiate the price prior. You can find taxis outside in the arrival area. We typically don't recommend this option because it's more of a haggle with the taxi drivers.

Question

Where should I exchange money?

Answer

The best solution to money is to just use your credit card or debit card since you will get the best exchange rate. However, you will need to have some cash on hand for tips, activities, purchasing stuff from vendors, artists, and what not. You can easily get money out of an ATM at the hotel or at a bank nearby. There is no need to get any pesos at the airport.

Question

What are the ceremony details?

Answer

We are planning to have shuttle buses from Cabo Azul to the ceremony location leaving approximately around 3:30pm. We are doing a very simple ceremony on the beach, standing only. Exact location TBD. We will provide more details closer to the event.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The temperatures range between 85-95 degrees, but with breezes on the beach. Please wear whatever you are comfortable in that still looks nice. We will most likely be bare foot during the ceremony, so feel free to do the same. Please keep in mind that looser linens and lighter colors deflect the heat better. We will be going to the restaurant directly after the ceremony.

Question

Where is the Reception?

Answer

We are not doing a formal reception. We will be having dinner at a restaurant and staying there to "party" or going out to another location. Exact details are TBD. This is going to be a very intimate and casual wedding, but we think it will be very special and a lot of fun! We will provide more details closer to the event.

Question

Is San Jose and surrounding cities safe?

Answer

Absolutely! These cities thrive on tourism and they keep it extremely safe for visitors. We've never felt unsafe there, even at night, and truthfully find it to be more safe there than most major US cities. The areas we will be in are full of American tourists. As always when traveling, be mindful of your surroundings, just as you would if you were traveling in Paris, Italy, or any other first world country. We would never bring all of the people we love the most to a place that wasn't safe :)

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

Most hotel resorts and restaurants have high quality filtration systems, therefore it is usually safe and you will likely be just fine. However, if you want to be 100% safe, you can purchase large bottles of water from any Oxo (similar to 7-11), grocery store, or from the convenience store in your hotel. If you are at a resort or nice restaurant, ice in your drinks is usually 100% safe.

Question

Is there a nearby hospital in case of an emergency?

Answer

Yes, of course. San Jose is a thriving, artistic town with every amenity you could need. The nearest hospital is called Hospiten San Jose del Cabo and is a 10 minute drive from Cabo Azul. There are also pharmacies nearby in the town if you need to get OTC medicine. Hospiten San Jose del Cabo Paseo de Las Misiones 266 Campo de Golf Fonatur 23400 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., Mexico +52 624 105 8550 hospiten.com

Question

If I used my AAA card to book our hotel, do we need to bring the AAA card for check-in?

Answer

Our suggestion would be to carry the card, just in case. Some hotel representatives will ask for it, others do not. So better to have it to be safe.

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Please use #brushcapone on anything you post so we can have all of the fun memories in one place!
