Our story (Meghan’s perspective!)

When I walked into a brand new young adult group at a new church, the last thing I expected was to find my future husband! But lucky for me, God had another plan. I remember meeting Josh that night, but we did not actually have a full-blown conversation for a month or so! We really began to get to know each other when, as a group, we saw the movie Black Panther and Josh and I sat next to each other. This is when I really started thinking, wow this is an amazing guy! Fast forward a month of texting and Facebook messaging, and we had our first night together planned. I already knew I liked Josh, but was hoping this evening of dinner and making t-shirts together for a sixers game would make things more official, and I was right! The next day he asked me out for our first official date, and we have been side by side ever since. Except for the fact that he now lives in Virginia of course! That’s why I am so excited and honored that you all reading this will be there at our wedding to celebrate our marriage and send us off to our new life in Virginia together!

Our Story (Josh’s perspective!)

Meghan and I met at a young adult bible study at our church, The Journey in Newark, DE. Before I met Meghan, I was not planning on dating anyone since I knew I would be moving to Virginia later in the year. But thankfully, over time, that idea began to fade when we started talking and I realized how much I liked Meghan. One night at the young adult group, we both agreed to go to a 76ers game in Philadelphia! We both wanted to wear 76ers apparel to the game, but did not want to have to buy the shirts so Meghan came up with the idea of making our own 76ers t-shirts for the game. A few nights before the game, we decided to make these shirts and hang out with friends. At the end of the night, I finally made up my mind to ask Meghan out, and the relationship has proceeded quickly from there! Our first date was at the Wilmington riverfront and we both made clear our intentions that we wanted to eventually get married and have a family. We have continued going to the Journey where we grow in our relationship with God and grow closer to each other. Eventually I had to move down to Virginia for my job at Capital One. Though distance separates us, we both committed to making the long-distance relationship work, despite 4 hour drives in traffic on Friday nights, late night studying for P.A. school, and day-to-day stresses that could have gotten in the way of our relationship! On September 22nd, I took Meghan on a date to Annapolis and surprised her with a proposal in front of close friends and family in the garden at St. Mary's church. She said yes!!! And now we are getting married! Hope to see you at our wedding so you can be apart of our love story too!
