On a night where a glass of wine and oysters were a must (with preference for a rooftop restaurant since it was such a beautiful night out), John was working as a server the night Brooke and her sister, Lauren, decided to treat themselves at Sign of the Whale in Harbor Point in Stamford, CT. Brooke and John immediately hit it off with making each other laugh (there may have been quite a few "shucking" jokes amongst the silly banter, quizzing each other on what cable channels certain shows used to be on in the 90s, the list goes on..). Between tables, John kept saying "Oh I like you! I'm coming back for you!" and asked for Brooke's number by the time the check came. The rest is history!

John brought Brooke back to the place where they first met -- on the rooftop of the restaurant. Our family and friends were all in on it, sitting in the area where Brooke and her sister were when John first laid eyes on Brooke. John used his friend, Fernando, as his alibi for getting us to the restaurant, saying we were invited to his cousin's birthday celebration there. Something seemed suspicious though, when an Uber XL (Escalade) drove up to our house to pick us up, and John seemed wildly overdressed for the occasion! John and Brooke were actually supposed to go to a Halloween party that night after the "birthday celebration", and he had come up with us dressing up as Johnny and Moira Rose from Schitt's Creek. Little did Brooke realize that it was all a set up -- Johnny Rose always wore a nice suit, so John decided to wear his "Halloween costume" to the event. So smart! ...and of course, Brooke said YES! And after the proposal, with of our friends and family there, we had an immediate engagement party on a beautiful night in Harbor Point.
