We're getting married!

In August of 2020 (the summer of Covid), Brooke and Josh met on Hinge. Brooke wasn't sure if she wanted to go on more dates after feeling a little jaded, but Josh was persistent. Josh asked Brooke to meet him at a dog park since they both had dogs, and Brooke decided to give him a chance. Josh worried that his dog, Appa, actually wouldn't do well at a dog park, so he decided to change plans and asked Brooke to meet him at Tom's Town, a chic cocktail bar in Kansas City's Crossroads district, for drinks and live music. Brooke was a little nervous in the beginning, but after a couple of drinks, she became more comfortable and found that talking to Josh felt very easy. Before they knew it, they decided they didn't want the date to be over yet, so they went to Up-Down, a nearby arcade bar, and spent the rest of the night talking, playing Frogger, and feeling more and more like this could have some potential. When it was finally time to go home, Brooke got in her car and texted her mom, "Best first date ever."
