Helpful Advice For Traveling Guests
BOOK EARLY: Be sure to book your stay as soon as you are able. Topton, NC is a small town with limited availability. THE DRIVE: The roads can be very winding with sharp, sudden turns. So, please plan on going slower and taking your time getting to the mountain top. Add extra time to you drive to allow for a more comfortable drive. The EASIEST way to get to Topton is from the town of Andrews as it is far less curvy and much easier to drive. If you drive to the venue from the town of Franklin, please keep in mind the roads are very curvy and often not the most ideal for folks who are unfamiliar with driving on the NC mountain roads. DESIGNATED DRIVER: Please drink responsibly and/or have a DD plan in place. If you need to schedule a ride to or from the event, you can contact the transportation option listed below to schedule shuttle transport. NO CELL SERVICE: There is NO CELL SERVICE at the top of the mountain. Set up your GPS before leaving Andrews/Franklin and please be aware that you will have very limited cell reception. Most rental cabins and the wedding venue have land line phones you can use if needed. Wifi is also available at most rentals, as well as, the wedding venue but the weather can sometimes make this unreliable. For those flying, Lake Nantahala is located 2.75 hours from Atlanta, GA, 2.5 hours from Chattanooga, TN 2 hours from Asheville, NC, and 2.5 hours from Knoxville, TN.
