Suncadia Resort
There's plenty to do and see at Suncadia! Hiking and biking trails, swimming in the pool, playing golf on the course—summer is the best time in Washington, and we hope you stick around to enjoy it.
Roslyn, WA
Only ten minutes from Suncadia, this former coal town is brimming with shops, breweries, and restaurants to peruse. And we'll answer the question you're all thinking—YES, this is the town where they filmed the 1990s CBS sitcom "Northern Exposure." Cool, right?
Cle Elum, WA
Cle Elum is another great spot to check out; Dru Bru has their flagship brewery here, and you'll also find the oldest-operating butcher shop in Washington state, Owen's Meats.
Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest
If you know us, you know we're trail people: hikers, trail runners, backpackers. Well, there are plenty of incredible trails so close to Cle Elum. Here are a few we can recommend, and you can find more details on AllTrails (linked above): -Coal Mines Trail: Roslyn to Ronald, easy, 3 miles -Cle Elum Ridge, moderate, 4.3 miles -Hex Mountain Trail, challenging, 7.5 miles
Leavenworth
Another awesome must-see up here. A little over an hour from Cle Elum, this Bavarian-style town has been the setting for countless Hallmark movies. There's beer, brats, and a year-round two-story Christmas store. Worth the drive, we promise!
Seattle
We know it's an hour and twenty away, but hey: Check out the Space Needle if you can! And definitely see the Fremont Troll. If you've never been to Seattle, or even if you have, we recommend using Atlas Obscura. It's our favorite way to travel (or at least Hayden's...) It's taken us to some hidden gems and, well, weird spots. But it's never boring.
