'Twas a lovely crisp March day, in peak pandemic, on a little app called hinge where Andrew and I first met :) Andrew had just moved to Philly for work and I was living in the city. When Andrew showed up to our first date with a "Walking Philadelphia" book, and ordered a chai tea with oat milk, I knew that he was going to be someone special! The next two years created space for us to figure out (pretty quickly) that the adventures we had been going on solo, made no match for what we could do together. Whether it was back-packing, snowboarding and climbing, navigating grief and uncertainty, cleaning up dishes at 11:30p after greatly underestimating how long it would take to cook dinner, or even Andrew just trying to explain an "easy" part of his grad class while I nodded pretending I understood "autonomous orbit determination using gravity gradients within an extended Kalman filter" (..yup...still have no clue) - we made a good pair, and we knew that whatever the future held, it was going to be brighter together. In August, as the sun was setting at Kaena point on Oahu, Andrew just before proposing said "Are you Ready?" Never have I been more ready for anything in my life :) We cannot wait to celebrate with you all in October! We know it will be full of joy, sunshine (metaphorically, and fingers-crossed, literally), and most importantly give us space to be with all those we love most. See you soon!
