It all started with a double date! Haley, Brooke’s best friend and college roommate, and Chris, one of Alex’s childhood friends, began dating in college. Despite having this mutual connection and many opportunities to meet over the years, we somehow never crossed paths.  One weekend, while visiting some friends in Charlotte, Haley and Chris started talking with Alex (who was also visiting) and realized that the two of us would be a great match. They spent the next few days playing matchmaker, hyping each of us up to the other. After hearing our friends raving reviews, we knew we had to meet! Phone numbers were shortly exchanged, and conversations took off from there. We chatted away, setting up a double date for the following weekend where we bonded at The Battery over wood-fired pizza and dueling pianos shows. So much so that we planned our next two dates that same night and were inseparable from that point on.

Alex proposed on the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park on a trip to Maine (one of Brooke’s favorite places). The proposal was followed by celebratory popovers at the Jordan Pond House, more scenic hikes, happy phone calls with family, a waterfront dinner on the harbor. The most perfect ending to the most perfect day!
