We met in the Summer of 2014 living and working in Yosemite National Park. Liz was lifeguarding while David was working at the Ahwahnee hotel and we met through mutual friends. After that summer, we each went our separate ways (Liz back to college in Seattle and David off to Hawaii) but continued to cross paths. We found our way back to each other and in 2017 Liz moved to San Diego with David and the rest is history.
We decided to buy the ring and plan our engagement together (Liz is not a fan of surprises). In January, we planned a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. David had intended to propose at Emerald Bay but the road was closed after a big snowstorm. Instead, we drove around the lake to the Nevada side, stopping at Sand Harbor State Park. We hopped a snow covered fence and climbed down to the water, walking out onto the submerged rocks. Finally, David got down on one knee (carefully avoiding the freezing water) and proposed.
We are so excited to have our wedding just outside of Yosemite National Park and can't wait to share the special place where we fell in love. As we prepare, please use this website as a convenient tool for travel information, our registry, things to do and we'll continue to update all the details leading up to our wedding. See you next Summer!
