COVID-19 Update

4/7/2020

Due to safety concerns we are limiting our wedding size to immediate family only. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are hoping it will be safe to gather and party again soon. Please join us next year for a Summer Solstice Potluck Celebration. Stay healthy, stay mindful, and hopefully we will be able to celebrate soon!

How We Met

Jan 2005

We met at a friends party and locked eyes. Cheesy but true. We knew that we would be spending a lot of time together in the future. We got to know each other while facilitating food programs that helped feed the needy. We shared common interests of music, movies and traveling. We have been lucky enough to share a wonderful stable relationship through the years. We have supported each other while starting our teaching careers. Now it is time to party and tie the knot!!

The Proposal

April 18, 2019

We discussed a long, long, time ago that we wanted to start our teaching careers before tackling a wedding. We knew that we would eventually get married. When the time was right, Brittney wanted a proposal and wanted it to be in a beautiful place. Ruben planned a day trip to Yosemite since, duh, it's the most magical place ever. Brittney was completely unsuspecting because you never need an excuse to plan a trip to Yosemite. We had planned that we wanted to hike to the base of El Capitan. It was a beautiful day and we even saw a bear in the meadow! After climbing the boulders to get up to the bottom of El Cap; it was amazing and moving to look up the massive granite wall. We sat down to eat our sack lunch and Ruben completely surprised Brittney when he got down on one knee. Yosemite will always be the most amazing place ever and now it holds an even more special place in our hearts. Then, on the drive home, we saw a shooting star.

For all the days along the way
