The Beginning of Our Forever

October 2019

A couple kids from Highland, MI, passing like ships in the night- never meeting, connected later in life for a second chance at love. After spending countless hours talking on the phone, we couldn’t wait to meet up in person! We met at a little BBQ joint in Downtown Milford where we spent hours enjoying good food, drinks, and conversation/laughs. It had truly felt like we had known each other for a lifetime, and from that moment forward- we were inseparable.

Over The Years

Our relationship started just months before COVID hit. We were (happily) forced to spend much of our quarantine time together. We spent many days learning about each other, doing house projects, having fun bringing the kiddos together, and way too many nights of 2 person drinking games. That first summer together, we spent a lot of time bringing our children together where they quickly became best friends and acted as siblings. It was a huge blessing watching how natural it all came. We had a lot of good this first year (including bringing our two Boston Terrier puppies into the mix), and experienced some hard times (loss of family members and pets)- but we strengthened our bonds by getting through it together with the love and support of one another. In December of 2020 we decided it was time to bring everyone together as ONE and bought a home together. Bringing all of us together under one roof has been the best. We’ve spent the next couple years as a family of 6- shuffling sports games, family vacations, travel, work, etc and neither of us would trade it for anything.

He asked…. I said “YESS!!”

October 2022

For our three year anniversary, we planned a weekend away in Traverse City. The weather was beautiful and we wanted to have a nice, relaxing weekend away- wine tasting (and of course, some golf). We were about 20 min from our hotel when Aaron informed Brittney that he had something planned for us. We stopped at one of our favorite Vineyards, Bonobo to do a wine flight (I think just to calm his nerves of what was coming.) Then we headed to The Secret Garden at Brys Estate. We arrive and Aaron had planned a beautiful private lunch with charcuterie board, a sparkling wine, and beautiful views of lavender fields and vineyards. We talked for a bit about our life together, and he got down on one knee! Of course, I said “yess! Finally!” We spent the rest of the day and weekend visiting our favorite vineyards, golfing, and celebrating this next chapter in our life! It was the perfect beginning to the rest of our lives. ❤️
