For those of you who don't already know the story, it's a good one. Daniel and Brittany decided to meet at The Dandelion Restaurant in Philly on a Thursday night in January. Daniel arrived 45 minutes early because he wanted to be super punctual (and because he knew he'd have trouble finding parking). He spent 20 minutes trying to parallel park. Brittany lived in Philly at the time, so she casually walked there without any trouble. They talked and laughed over merlot and a charcuterie board. The attraction (not just the physical attraction) was evident immediately. By the end of the evening, they were walking out of the restaurant holding hands, which led to a nice goodbye hug. They each went their separate ways - Brittany to her apartment and Daniel to the empty space where his car had been before it got towed... Despite the parking ticket and the six inches of snow that had blanketed the car, Daniel made it back home to New Jersey smitten with Brittany and eager to see her again.
The love birds went grocery shopping to pick up ingredients for chicken stir-fry. They made a great team - Brittany knew where everything was in the store, and Daniel could reach the high shelves and push the cart. (Little did Daniel know that pushing the cart would become his permanent job). The meal turned out great! Afterwards, Daniel gathered up his courage to ask Brittany to be his girlfriend. She said yes, as long as he agreed to be her boyfriend. They sealed it with a kiss and a dance to none other than "Let It Go" from Frozen. At the end of the song, Daniel said, "I love you." Brittany replied, "Good, because I've been waiting so long to say, I love you too".
Early in their relationship, Brittany took a leap of faith and invited Daniel to join her and her family on a cruise. Taking an even bigger leap of faith, Daniel said yes. And they embarked on their first vacation together on board Royal Caribbean's ship, The Allure of the Seas. A novice cruiser, still getting his sea legs, Daniel was in awe over the ship's size and amenities, especially the free food. Daniel and Brittany tested their relationSHIP on the open seas. It survived the highs of dancing to Michael Jackson and the lows of the canceled return flight. Nonetheless, they came out stronger and even more in love knowing they can spend 24/7 with the other and not throw each other overboard.
About a year and a half since they met, Daniel and Brittany were ready to take the next step. Daniel's lease was ending, and he desired to come back home to PA so that he did not have to drive an hour to see his love. They went apartment searching and found a great spot on the top floor of a new building in Collegeville. Every morning, they enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking the beautiful courtyard and Providence Towne Center. Little did they know, this place would foster some great memories over the next year like walking with their pup Romeo, celebrating their first Christmas together, and dancing while cooking.
On Friday, July 14th, Daniel told Brittany they had "plans for dinner" and suggested that she wear something nice. While Brittany was getting ready, Daniel (along with his friends and family) constructed a message in the courtyard of their apartment that could be seen from their balcony. The message was written out in stones and read, "Hey Brittany... come down". When it was finished, Daniel called Brittany and told her to come out on the balcony. Brittany saw the message and made her way down (still not knowing what was about to happen). When she saw Daniel surrounded by their friends and family, she suddenly realized what was happening. Daniel got down on one knee and asked the biggest question of his life. "Brittany, will you marry me?" And Brittany (with tears in her eyes) gave the best answer - YES!
Daniel, Brittany, and their families went on a vacation to Paris, France to celebrate their new engagement. They toured all the famous sites such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe. They also visited the Palace of Versailles and multiple Chateaus (castles) in the Loire Valley. And you can't talk about France without mentioning their cuisine. There were so many memorable meals, whether it be from a dinner cruise on the Seine, Moulin Rouge, or a surprise picnic from Daniel. Everything in France tastes better than in the states - the pizza, crepes, chocolate croissants, baguettes, wine... the list goes on. As you can probably tell, Daniel and Brittany have shared many amazing moments together filled with laughter and love. And now, they can't wait to continue their journey by celebrating their wedding day with you!
