After dating for almost 6 years, Ryan surprised me with the most amazing proposal I could ever have dreamt of! While in Massachusetts for a buddy’s wedding, Ryan and I decided to spend the next day in Martha’s Vineyard. While we were exploring the island, I was completely clueless about what Ryan had in store for me! After a couple hours wondering the gingerbread village we took the trolley to the other side of the island. We eventually found ourselves on a dirt path leading towards a lighthouse. We stood for quite a while watching the tide roll in and kids collecting seashells. It was a beautiful day but hot and hungry, I was ready to move on. However Ryan was adamant about getting a picture together, something he never cares about! He found a guy more than willing to take our photo- unbeknownst to me it was because Ryan had told him he was going to propose to me and the guy was giddy with his role in all of it! As we were taking our places, I turned to brush the hair away from my face and as I turned back around, I saw Ryan getting down on one knee. It’s amazing how this was a moment I knew would someday happen but was completely unprepared for! I started nervously laughing as he said “Brittany Taylor White, you’re my best friend and I want to know if you would marry me?’! As he opened the box, all I could say was “is this really happening?”. I thought I was going to pass out from excitement and it took the crowd who had gathered to remind me to answer! I squealed out “yes, oh god yes”! Ryan pulled off the best proposal in the most magical setting next to the Edgartown Lighthouse on Martha’s Vineyard. My beloved grandfather’s middle name was Edgar and Ryan had worked with my mom, Martha designing the ring so my sentimental soul was filled with joy! I honestly didn’t think being engaged would feel any different, but it does in the most amazing way! I love calling Ryan my fiancé and I cannot wait to call him my husband in September!
