It was always you...

(Brittany's Version)

I had been working out at 9 round for some time and there my trainer Sherry and I would talk about my online dating disasters. The more I dated, the more I realized that good guys were hard to come by. Early into 2020, I took my 9 year old niece Caleigh up to the gym with me. She tried to tell me what to do, by yelling out everything the trainer Jen said, such as "do 10 burpees". I complied at first, but then I acted like I could not hear her haha. Montana another member at the gym was there, who I had seen a few time in passing. Caleigh began yelling out for him to do burpees. I apologized and he said "Its alright I don't mind". He continued to do the burpees every time she yelled out. Till this day, Caleigh believes she is the one that brought this relationship together. She even had the audacity to ask for reward money haha. Months had passed and trainer Sherry began telling me about Montana and how he was such a great guy. She thought very highly of him and would tell me how funny he was, how caring he was. Abby and Ryan, who I met through the gym were also great friends of his. They also spoke nothing but kind words of this man. One day in June, I received a message on Facebook. It was Montana and he asked me out on a date. I said "Yeah, I would go to dinner with you". At this point I had almost given up on this whole trying to find my person thing, and I said to myself "why the hell not". He took me to Teocali to eat dinner and we went to Up Down afterwards to talk and play games. I was tired that night and later found out that Montana thought I was not interested, when in reality I'm just a grandma who enjoys going to bed early. When we arrived to my house, we found a turtle in the driveaway. The turtle was rescued that night and the rest is history.

How I Met My Woman

(Montana's Version)

It was the beginning of the Pandemic. Relying on oneself was becoming a way of life. However, I was down I couldn't go to the gym. It was a time where punching and kicking would of been a great stress reliever. I didn't know it but the gym had more waiting for me than ever before. Come to find out, our trainer Sherry and some good friends (Abby and Ryan) had talked me up to a member named Brittany, and they did the same thing to me of her. Basically telling me to ask her out. Now it had been awhile asking someone out and with a lot shut down, it was going to be hard to come up with a date. However, one night with my liquid confidence at a high, I decided to message her and ask her out. I wanted to do it in person the Friday before. I wasn't into the idea of getting a dating app or "sliding into someone's DM's" so I said screw it and crashed into there. After asking her out, I tossed my phone to the side because no matter the answer, I had asked a pretty girl out. Much to my surprise she said yes to the date. Throughout the week we had talked and talked and got to know each other better leading up to the date. I tried to make her feel in as control as possible by giving her the location of the restaurant and meeting me there but she said it was ok to pick her up. As soon as I got to her house to pick her up, she gave me a tour! Little did I know at that time that she gave me a tour of my future home. We went to Teocali and had a great dinner, unfortunately I didn't eat much because my nerves were through the roof. We went to UpDown after for a bit and then she said she was tired and I took her home. There, there was a turtle in her driveway which I left up to her to save....but she did. After that date I completely thought that there was no chance we would have another date as I thought it ended awkwardly.....obviously not and here we are today, engaged to be married!

Caleigh's Version of how we met (Brittany's Niece)

One evening my mum came up to me and asked if I wanted to spend the day and night with my aunt Brittany and I of course said yes. So I went with my aunt Brittany to where she works out, 9 Round. When we got there, Brittany’s trainer said “you can say burpee’s when ever you want!” So as always, I decided to be annoying and I kept on saying burpee’s and Aunt Brittany kept doing them until she got tired. Then some stranger who was a boy with kinda ginger hair said “You can tell me to do burpee’s when ever you want!” And I was pretty exited, but in my mind I knew he just felt sorry for me that my aunt was kinda ignoring me but I’m pretty sure she couldn’t hear me actually, I’m really sure she couldn’t hear me. So a few hours later this kinda tall ginger hair guy said he had to go and he said “bye!” So I said bye back. My aunt Brittany came over and said “Who was that?” And I said I don’t really know? A few weeks later my aunt introduced us to her new boyfriend and it was the tall, ginger hair man and I got to learn that his name was Montana. I decided since they were dating it was time to be my annoying self so I said I brought this relationship together. I asked Aunt Brittany for 500 dollars for bringing them together and she said "no". I then asked for 100 million dollars and both her and Montana laughed. They say they met through their trainer but we all know the truth!

Sherry's Version (Trainer)

Brit asked - Can you message me your version of how Montana and I came to be Sherry says - I told him to ask you out...lol

The Proposal

12.24.21 Christmas Eve was coming to an end with the family at our house. I was sitting on the couch and Montana said "I have one more thing". Montana brought up a box for me. He made a scrapbook with all the memories from the very beginning of our relationship to now. The scrapbook was so thoughtful and very well done and included all of our adventures. The book was full of emotions and when he talked about getting to know my parents through me, I kind of lost it at that point. At the end of the book it said "P.S. one more thing...". I turned the page and it was blank. I looked over at him, and he was on one knee. He said "Would you do me the honors of marrying me". I of course crying, said "YES".
