Things To Do

We're so excited for all our friends and family to visit Snowmass, an incredibly special place to us. Our first trip together as a couple a few months into our relationship was to Snowmass and we've loved spending time during all seasons there ever since. Snowmass is where we got engaged in 2021 under our favorite mountain vista, Mt. Daly (the hike where this happened is in our recommended list below!). Thank you for making the not so easy journey to this special place to celebrate our love. Please note, Ubers are hard to get and expensive, but the bus system in Snowmass and Aspen is free and easy to use if you won't have a car with you.
Ditch Trail (via the Nature Trail) Hike

Ditch Trail (via the Nature Trail) Hike

The hike where we got engaged! Matt proposed by the bench at the end of the trail overlooking Mt Daly. Difficulty: Easy - mostly a flat walk Navigation: You can access the Ditch Trail via the Nature Trail that begins right in Snowmass Village past the parking lot right across from the Viewline hotel car entrance. We recommend downloading and using the All Trails app for navigation help for any hikes in the area.

Spiral Point via Rim Trail South Hike

Maroon Bells

Maroon Bells

We highly recommend a trip to the Maroon Bells! To access, you must reserve a spot on the shuttle that departs from Aspen Highlands (park in the Aspen Highlands Ski Resort parking). Once there, you can hike to the lake at the base (Crater Lake) via a short easy/moderate hike (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/crater-lake-trail).

Explore Downtown Aspen

Explore Downtown Aspen

Spend a morning or afternoon walking around the beautiful town of Aspen. Make a stop at the John Denver Sanctuary and enjoy lunch at the White House Tavern. There is a free bus route that runs from Snowmass to Aspen that you can take there and back - make sure to transfer at the Brush Creek Park and Ride.

There are many other activities (renting bikes to Woody Creek Tavern, exploring Basalt or Carbondale, white water rafting / kayaking, paddleboarding, drive to Reudi Reservoir, etc.) and much more difficult but scenic hikes (Midway Loop, American Lake, Cathedral Lake, Thomas Lakes, etc.). If you're looking for specific recommendations or how to book any of the above options, feel free to reach out directly to Matt or Brittany!
