Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be held at the Alpenglow Lodge at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Question

How do I get to the wedding?

Answer

We will be offering shuttles from Bartlett High School up to Alpenglow Lodge for those who choose not to drive. For those who wish to enjoy the ski lift, there are shuttles leaving Bartlett High School at 1pm and 1:30pm. For those who won't be enjoying the ski lift, there are shuttles leaving Bartlett High School at 2:45pm and 3:15pm. We will have shuttles available to leave the venue as well, once the fun is over!

Question

What is the venue like?

Answer

Although Alpenglow Lodge is a venue that holds weddings, it is not a standard wedding venue. It is a very rustic, Alaskan venue. The Alpenglow Lodge is located at the end of the Arctic Valley Rd. It is a gravel/rocky property so we advise bringing/wearing smart shoes. Heels will be difficult to walk comfortably around the property so we advise wearing platforms, wedges, or smaller heels.

Question

Tell me about the ski lift.

Answer

For those who wish, we will be offering the ski lift up to Rendevous Peak from 2-4pm before the ceremony. From the venue, the ski lift is a short walk up a rocky hill so wearing flat shoes would be advised. The ski lift is about a 15-20 minute ride up the mountain. Once you get to the top of the mountain, you do have to get off the lift and have two options. You can either get off the lift and wait for another chair to right back down OR you can take a 5 minute walk/hike up to the peak of Rendevous. From the top, there are wonderful views of the surrounding mountain valleys. If you plan on enjoying the ski lift, we do recommend bringing a jacket and wearing sensible shoes because it is rugged.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Due to many variables, we have decided to have a child free wedding.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Casual. This is a late summer/early fall Alaskan wedding so dress accordingly. For woman, that could mean a floral, patterned, silk midi or maxi dress with wedges or block heels. For men, dress pants or khakis paired with a collared shirt, with the option to also style their look with a tie or sports jacket.Jeans, shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, flip-flops, and sneakers are absolutely not appropriate.
