We met as co-workers and instantly became friends. At the time, he and I had just gone through a break-up but wasn’t aware of it. It wasn’t until we were watching a YouTube video on our break that the topic came up if we were single or currently in a relationship. Daily as I worked with him, I remember thinking “whomever I decided to date next, need to have some of the qualities he has”. He was just completely different from any guy I had ever met. Obviously, over time it was clear that we were interested in one another but we both were crystal clear that we wanted to move slow if we ever decided to date. After a full year of dating, we finally made it official that we were ready to date one another exclusively. 8 years later, here we are turning my Ms. Into Mrs.!!!!!!

It was Saturday March 5, 2022, my friends (Melissa and Andy) and I had planned a girls’ day for the morning and my best friend (Melissa) had planned a date night for couples that evening. Andy said her husband wasn't going to be able to make it to the couples date night. So, after our girls’ day, Melissa and I go home get dressed and got ready for the date night. Prior to the date night Melissa asked me to pick the place I wanted to eat at since she picked the place of where the date was. We get to Union Station (Downtown St. Louis) and immediately, I’m hungry so I ask what time the reservations were for. Melissa says between 6:45-7:00. So, we get on the Ferris Wheel to kill a little time. After we got off the, we all are walking towards the place where our “reservations” are, and I notice a crowd of people kind standing around. I look Melissa right in the face and said, “let’s just wait right here we don’t want to interrupt someone’s proposal” She said, “no just keep walking”. That’s when I saw my son holding a sign and it clicked, I had just walked into my proposal. I turned around and Marcus was on one knee!!!!! The best part was Melissa was able to get all my best friends there. My best friend India drove down to be a part of this, my best friend Joy drove down to be a part of it, my extended family (moma Chelle and Chloe) were there. You know who else was there? Andy and her husband. They were in on it the entire time! It was such a special moment and I truly appreciate everyone who helped make it happen. Can't wait for 6.8.24 when they see me go from Ms. to Mrs.!
