What should I bring to prepare for the desert?

Answer

Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, chapstick and water. The desert will dry you out fast and it is best to stay hydrated as best you can. Closed toe shoes like boots are preferred. It is rocky and uneven ground. It will be warm during the day and cool down in evenings. Be sure to bring a jacket or shawl for evenings in Big Bend.
