FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brittany Peebles and Dwight Allman
Question

Are children allowed at the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

Only children that are named in the invitations will be allowed. Please keep in mind we have limited seating capacity, this also affects catering. For children invited: We require your full attention on your child/children at all times. Please make sure your child is in arms length during both the ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

When we send out invites we will specify who is included in the invite. We are so excited to celebrate with you, but due to venue capacity, invitations are limited to the names of those stated on the invite. Please contact us directly if you have concerns regarding this.

Question

Will the wedding and reception take place outdoors?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony will take place along a lake dock with wooden tiered seating and the reception will be under a covered and open pavilion by the water.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We will be going with a semi-casual/semi-formal style. Aka, a nice sun dress in your closet or a button up shirt with slacks. Do consider bringing a light jacket or sweater for a cooler night as the average nighttime temperature is 56 degrees F/13 degrees C. Also, stilettos may not be the best shoe to wear as the ceremony seating is on gravel and dirt and uneven surfaces.

Question

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

Since we’re going with an in-between-seasons day it could be on the comfortably warmer side(around a high of 78 degrees F, 25 degrees C with a low of around 56 degrees F, 13 degrees C). Rain could be possible so do prepare for that chance by bringing an umbrella.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We’d love to see each person’s own unique perspective. We just ask that you please wait until after the ceremony as we will have professional photographers and videographers getting shots and they would look best without phones seen. If you’d like to get a photo with us just let us know! We can even get our photographer to get the professional shot for you if you’d like.

Question

Can I RSVP online or do I have to mail in an RSVP card?

Answer

You do not need to RSVP through mail. We prefer that you do so through the website or by texting 540-729-3863

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 1st, 2025 so we will be best prepared for your arrival, or unfortunate decline.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes!

Question

Where can I find parking?

Answer

Ample parking will be available at the venue

Question

Where can I stay if I am traveling from out of town?

Answer

There are hotels located about a 15 minute drive from the venue, as well as cabins which are about a 25 minute drive. Please check out our “Places to Stay” page for more info!

Question

Where will wedding updates be posted?

Answer

We will make sure to add to the home page if any changes occur in regards to time or schedule.

Question

Will you be live streaming your wedding?

Answer

At this time we do not plan to livestream the wedding, but we will be taking lots of professional videos and photos throughout the day which will be posted for anyone to view!

Question

Can rice, bird seed or artificial flowers be tossed as confetti?

Answer

NO, Absolutely no flower seeds, bird seed or artificial flower petals/leaves, or confetti/loose paper items or glitter are to be thrown on the premises. Seeds can disrupt the venue and flowers and plants already planted and artificial decor can harm the environment by taking years to disintegrate. Rice however is fine and allowed at the venue.

Question

Can we bring sparklers or fireworks?

Answer

NO, this can be a fire hazard for the venue.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

Yes, there is a designated smoking area located at the fire pit. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, there will be sand buckets available to use.

Question

Is WiFi available at the venue?

Answer

There will not be Wi-Fi available. The cell service out here is bad as well, but we consider it to be a nice disconnect from the social media world where for one day we can enjoy each other’s company to the fullest!

Question

Any colours or styles should I wear?

Answer

First of all wear what is comfortable! If you’d like to try and match the colour theme we are going with its dusty pink and mint.

Question

Will you be providing vegetarian options at the reception?

Answer

Yes! We will be offering a salad option if you have a vegan or vegetarian dietary need.

Question

Will alcohol be at the reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be only a few selections of alcohol available like wine and beer. Please drink in moderation and responsibly. Please, if you do decide to drink, be sure you have a designated driver, we don’t want to have to worry about our guests when they leave for home at the end of the night.

Question

Where should we bring/send our wedding gifts?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home. If you need our address please let us know. We have a registry on our website if you’d prefer to gift us that way!

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

Our reception should end around 10pm, but you are not required to stay the full duration if you so feel.

Question

Will there be a time gap between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, we are planning to use about 30-45 minutes between the ceremony and reception to get some photos. You are free to roam the venue, take a bathroom break, admire the natural beauty available and connect with the other guests. You may also use this time to find your table and seat for the reception.

Question

I have a more specific question or I don’t see my question here on the FAQ page, how do I get in touch with you?

Answer

Feel free to get in touch with either Dwight or Brittany through Facebook, text or email.

Question

How is phone service at the venue and is there wifi?

Answer

There is no wifi at the venue and the cell phone signal is spotty and unreliable. If you need signal you may need to travel about 10 minutes toward Farmville town limits.
