Two washed up college softball and baseball players worked under the same roof, but not on the same team (yet!). In typical Coach Mike fashion, he managed our company softball team and needed a Hall of Famer on his roster (and in his life). A mutual friend, Christie (aka CC), suggested he reach out to Britt and the first diamond entered their life. Lots of games and laughs later, Mike invited Britt to a Phillies & Mets game, where he assumed it was a date and Britt quickly realized his bad taste in sports teams. A first smooch over Battleship and then Mike met Seabass (had an allergic reaction)…the rest is history! Shout out to CC for the making the introduction to two lifelong teammates.
Michael planned the most amazing “Valentine’s Day celebration” over Super Bowl weekend at their favorite neighborhood spot…the Philadelphia Art Museum! What he didn’t plan for was Britt getting food poisoning on a business trip just shy of 48 hours before the big day. Mike surprisingly played it cool and trusted the process (shout out Sixers fans). After getting to the Art Museum, Mike wanted to “quickly go by the river.” To which Britt immediately responded with, “Why? We are late. Wait, this isn’t happening right now….” Britt proceeded to black out when he popped the question and continues to ask him today what was said while down on one knee. We were surrounded around family, friends and saltines for the rest of February 12, 2023.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are beyond thankful for all of the love and well wishes so far in this chapter. Between texts, calls and visits, we are grateful to each of you for being part of our story. We look forward to making so many more memories with each of you. Now, let’s dance! Love, Britt & Mike
