Run or walk on the trail around Ladybird Lake (or 'Town Lake' if you want to sound local) that cuts right through the city. You can also rent paddle boards, kayaks, or canoes at Austin Rowing Dock. *Highly Recommend*
Take a dip in the natural, spring-fed Barton Springs Pool (where you may see some naked hippies, or become one yourself).
After taking a dip in the Springs, cross the street and relax in Zilker Park. The park is where Brigitte's favorite music festival (ACL) happens every fall. Lots of good people and dog watching to be had here.
Play some putt-putt golf at a Peter-Pan-themed golf course near downtown Austin...Doesn't sound that cool? What if we told you that you can bring your own cooler and play as many rounds as you want?
The couple's favorite place to drink in Austin? Rainey Street district! (Followed closely by East-6th-St. Bars). Hop in and out of old houses that have been converted into trendy bars--some with great food, some with Adult slides.
Shop and eat on Brigitte's favorite street in all of Austin! With a view of the Capitol building at the very end of the street, tons of locals' favorite restaurants (*but don't go to Guero's), popular street murals, old music halls (Contintental Club), and all types of shops (go to Tesoros), you could spend the whole day here!
A Tex-Mex staple in Brigitte & Ryan's diet. Cheap and satisfying every, single, time.
Open 24 hours, hit this Austin Staple after the bars for some face-sized gingerbread pancakes, omelettes, and/or some queso!
A trip to Austin wouldn't be complete without some BBQ, (and Tex Mex and Breakfast Tacos). Get ginormous beef ribs and delicious sides at this joint OR even better ribs up the road (a bit of a drive) at Stile's Switch.
Get the world's best queso at Matt's El Rancho (called 'Bob Armstrong' or 'Bob' if you want to sound local). And get a Mexican Martini (tastes better than it sounds) on the side. Hit Austin's oldest dance hall afterwards for some boot-scootin at The Broken Spoke.
After Texas Honey Ham, Tacodeli has the best breakfast tacos in town. Get the Jes or the Otto for breakfast, or the Cowboy for lunch. If you're looking for something more heavy or greasy (to cure that hangover) go to Torchy's Tacos!
Best. Italian Food. Ever.
Dance the night away at our favorite Piano Bar in all the lands.
Live music & boot-scootin' doesn't get any better than at the Broken Spoke! You can walk on over to this favorite dance hall of ours, after you get queso at Matt's El Rancho!
