Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

This depends on whether you would prefer to have a connecting flight or fly direct into a nearby airport, and rent a car to drive to Gainesville. Please see our "Travel" section for more information.

When should I book my hotel?

Answer

Book your hotel room as soon as possible in order to get the hotel and room type you want. Although the hotels require a credit card to book, an actual charge does not occur until check-in. See "Which hotel should I book" for more details and cancellation policies. The hotels are only offering the special rates until the dates shown below, AND are only holding a limited number of each room type.

Which hotel should I book?

Answer

It is one mile from Hotel Indigo to Courtyard Gainesville, and Residence Inn is about a half mile between them. Transportation will be provided from all three hotels to the wedding and reception, and back to the hotel after the reception. Hotel Indigo is an upscale boutique hotel located in Celebration Pointe where you can walk to adjacent shops and restaurants. It is ~ 1 mile to Butler Plaza North (see Things To Do). It has an onsite restaurant and bar open for breakfast and dinner. Rate: $179 until 01/22/25 for a King or 2 Queen Beds room Check-in: 3:00 PM; Check-out: 11:00 AM Breakfast Included: No Cancellation Policy: If cancelled less than 5 business days in advance, you will be charged one night's room rate plus applicable tax. Courtyard Gainesville is a newly renovated hotel. It is ~1 mile to Celebration Pointe, and ~.6 miles to the start of Butler Plaza North. (see Things To Do). It has an onsite Bistro/Bar open for breakfast & dinner. Rate: $179 until 01/20/25 for a King or 2 Queen Beds room Check-In: 4:00 PM; Check-out: 11:00AM Breakfast Included: No Cancellation Policy: You will be charged the first night's stay for any of the following: 1) failure to cancel within 48 hours prior to arrival, 2) failure to show on day of arrival. ALSO, failing to call or show before 12:00am after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of the reservation. Residence Inn is a newly renovated hotel for which all rooms are suites with a sitting area, kitchen and pull-out sofa. Although you can see the room layouts on their website, they have not yet updated the site with photos of the renovation. It is .6 miles to Celebration Pointe and ~.5 miles to the start of Butler Plaza North (see Things To Do). What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding and reception is cocktail attire. We ask that women wear a dress or jumpsuit (short dresses are fine), and men wear a suit, with or without a tie. Please note that the wedding ceremony will take place in a Catholic church. Shoulders do not need to be covered but you may wish to bring a wrap or shawl if your dress is backless or has a plunging neckline. The dress code for the welcome drinks is dressy casual. Women can wear a sundress, cocktail dress, or nice pants and top. Men can wear a polo or button down shirt with dress slacks or shorts. Please no athletic wear or flip flops.

The weather is generally warm in Gainesville in February, with temperatures in the 60s - 80s. However, there could be a cold snap or heat wave, so please check the weather before you pack to ensure you dress appropriately.

While we adore the little ones in our lives, we have decided to make this an adult-only celebration. We hope you are able to enjoy a parents' night out!

Is there parking available at the church and reception venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of free parking at both Queen of Peace and Granville Plantation. However, no cars may be left overnight at Granville Plantation, so if you drive yourself please make sure to drink responsibly or select a designated driver.
