Some may say Bridgette and Luke met in the most romantic, modern day way... by swiping right. One Monday night Bridgette and Luke were scrolling through the dating apps and matched on bumble. Luke was not interested in any small talk, he immediately asked for Bridgette's number and set up a date for the next night. That next day Bridgette didn't hear from him, she was just going to leave it and forget about it, but decided to reach out at 5 pm. Good thing she did, they were out at dinner by 6 pm. Turns out Luke was going to bail on the date, but we can forget about that part of the story... Despite Bridgette telling Luke she couldn't stay long because she had to watch the Bachelorette finale, he decided not to judge her and they spent hours talking over drinks and dinner. A few days later, Bridgette left for Miami for a week and they stayed in touch the entire time. Bridgette was initially thrown off by Luke's very weird sense of humour, but she grew to really appreciate his antics. When she got back from Miami, they went on numerous dates. A few weeks later Bridgette went on a girls trip back to Miami and Luke went to visit his friend in Naples, Florida. On February 7th, 2021, Bridgette took a trip from Miami to Naples to meet up with Luke. After a fiasco with trying to rent a car, Luke had to call multiple uber drivers to convince one of them to drive Bridgette 2 hours to Naples. She finally made it to Naples and only one hour into the trip, Luke asked Bridgette to be his girlfriend. He was going to wait until the end of the trip to ask, but once he saw Bridgette he was so excited and couldn't wait. Turns out Bridgette's request to "take things slow" was not going to hold up because after that trip to Naples, they moved at the speed of a Ferrari.... they were living together and had a dog just 2 months later. Some people might tell them they're crazy, but when you know, you know.

Bridgette and Luke's relationship was nothing short of exciting with a lot of travel involved. Just 3 months after they started dating, they took their first trip together to Cancun. Although they spent half the trip staring at pictures and talking about their new puppy that they left at home, they had an amazing trip and that was the start of their travel adventures. A couple weeks later, Bridgette took Luke to New Orleans to show him the city that she spent her college career at. A week after that, Luke took Bridgette to Chicago to show her the city he lived in for 4 years after college. That trip to Chicago included an engagement party for one of Luke's best friends and Bridgette wasn't shy to let Luke know she wanted a similar engagement party one day. With a few other trips along the way, in October of 2021, Bridgette and Luke took a trip to Italy to celebrate Bridgette's birthday. They went to Rome and the Amalfi Coast, and to this day will not stop talking to anyone and everyone about that trip. Honestly, they'll probably never shut up about Italy and will definitely be returning... maybe a one year anniversary trip? Bridgette and Luke will take every opportunity to travel and are looking forward to their honeymoon in Bali! Even though they are very nervous for a 19 hour direct flight to their layover in Singapore, they are both very excited for their first trip to Asia.

Although Bridgette thought she would always suspect when the proposal was coming, Luke continued to remind her that it would be a surprise.... Luke was right: For months before the proposal Bridgette was planning out the perfect white nails with a trendy design she wanted to have on the day she got engaged... she ended up getting engaged with chrome black nails. Anyway, enough about nails and back to the proposal. Luke told Bridgette they were going out for breakfast with his brother and sister-in-law. Bridgette was confused why Luke seemed overly excited for a breakfast, but didn't think much of it. While Bridgette was getting ready, Luke told her he was taking the dogs for a walk. Bridgette threw on a workout outfit and waited for Luke to get back from his very long walk. She then received a text from him saying "Change of plans, meet me by the water in 15 minutes." Bridgette was confused and suspicious at this point, she even contemplated changing her outfit, but decided against it (she did put on some makeup just in case). Bridgette walked over to meet Luke by the water. She thought a proposal might be coming, but spent the entire walk thinking of other reasons why Luke would tell her to come to the water. When she got there, she saw the dog walker holding the dogs, a photographer, and her soon to be fiancé waiting for her. Luke got on one knee, they both blacked out, and the next thing they knew Luke was putting Bridgette's dream ring on her finger. The engagement was perfect and coupled with a beautiful photo shoot, but the fun didn't stop there... Luke later surprised Bridgette with an engagement party with all their friends and family. It was a day they will never forget. Now the couple is looking forward to saying "I do" and celebrating with all their loved ones in July 2023!
