Tom and Bridget first met at their dear friend, Momo’s, super bowl party on February 4th, 2018. It was by chance that they both ended up at the party as Bridget was a casual football fan (at most) and Tom was certainly not a staple of the friend group. After a little effort and convincing from friends, Tom’s roommate, Chris, dragged him along to the party. Tom had a reluctant attitude as he was resolved to watch the game in peace after a weekend of festivities since the super bowl was being hosted in Minneapolis for the first time. Tom’s reluctant attitude changed to intrigue as he began to engage and converse with the cute redhead girl sitting on the couch across the living room. The super bowl itself turned out to be a great game, but Tom couldn’t have told you that as he was occupied listening to Bridget recite all the presidents in order. After a full night of conversation and a most beautiful Justin Timberlake concert, Tom was eager to get Bridget’s number at the end of the night. After watching the Eagles put the finishing touches on their super bowl masterpiece, and seeing the winning trophies handed out, Tom turned around only to see Bridget running out the door without even the simplest goodbye. (She was trying to beat the traffic home!) It wasn’t until the following weekend where the two finally connected and were able to exchange numbers and schedule some time for the two of them to get to know each other. Following the moment he left that super bowl party on that cold, bitter night in Minneapolis, Tom could not keep his mind off of Bridget and could not stop telling anyone who would listen about the most amazing person he just met.
We were in Lima, Peru after embarking on a four day trek in the Andes Mountains to Machu Picchu. After an amazing but exhausting trek, we had the opportunity to relax in Lima for a bit. We spent the day exploring the city with Tom’s sister and Brother-In-Law, Emily and Frank. Tom decided that he wanted to see the sunset at the beach so we all raced across town to make sure we made it to the beach in time for sunset. The beach we arrived at was packed with people and Tom was determined to find an open spot to hang out and watch the sunset. After pushing through crowds of people, we found a nice spot to take some pictures and drink our beers. Tom asked Frank and Emily to take a picture of us and little did Bridget know, as the picture was being taken, Tom proposed! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you all. See you in Portland!
