After a very difficult year for everyone, we have a bittersweet announcement regarding our wedding. Due to the unexpected cost of cancelling our original date to keep everyone safe amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to have a small wedding ceremony with immediate family and a few close friends. Please know this was not an easy decision and we wanted nothing more than to celebrate with all our loved ones. We are so thankful for our loving and supportive family and hope to see eveyone in the near future (as Mr. and Mrs. Koehler!).

Alex and I both attended University of Wisconsin-Madison where we studied Geological Engineering. We were in a speech class together and were randomly put in a group of three together for a group project. We both developed a crush for each other but both of us were too shy (or awkward) to say anything. We began finding excuses to hang out just the two of us: meeting together without our third group member (sorry Brandon!), dragging our roommates to “not a date” to the zoo (thank you to our maid of honor and best man!), and Alex insisting on walking me back to my apartment every night after a group meeting. There was one night I came home (after working on our project together for hours) and really dramatically layed on the floor and exclaimed to my roommates that I was madly in love with my project partner. FINALLY after a couple weeks of back and forth flirting we took our first date (and first hike together) to Devil’s Lake State Park and have been by each other’s side ever since.
