It all started with the riskiest swipe of her life. In December of 2016, Brianna and (then-roommate) Marissa were haphazardly swiping through men within a 3 mile radius of their apartment while pregaming for a night out at the bar. At some point--many glasses of wine and swipes later--they continued on with their night, forgetting their earlier swiping. A few days later, Brianna's Bumble app notified her that she had a new match: Adam C. "Crap," she thought, "what did I do?" She quickly scrolled through Adam's photos, hoping she hadn't made a huge mistake. Much to her chagrin, she couldn't even figure out what he looked like; all of his photos included multiple people, were too far away, and/or incorporated sunglasses. "Oh well," she thought, as she sent the first message: "Riskiest swipe of my life." Adam could not help but chuckle at this first message: who did this girl think she was? Was it truly such a "risk" to make contact with him? As he would soon find out through easy banter, this just was Brianna: a sassy little Italian meatball. After just a few messages they had set up their first date: they would meet in Rittenhouse at a local bar/restaurant--Crow & Pitcher--on Wednesday night, December 14. After a few cocktails and many laughs, the night ended and Adam offered to walk Brianna home. Her apartment was just about six blocks away. As they walked home, Brianna excitedly pulled Adam down Addison Street: "Look," she said, "this is my favorite street in the city. They never turn off the lights." It was truly a super sappy romcom-worthy stroll, the perfect ending to their first date. Over the next three and a half years, Brianna and Adam would make it a point to walk down Addison together whenever they could. Once Adam moved in, it became an even more of a ritual. On May 14, 2020, however, Adam would make this particular stroll extra special in making it the site of their engagement.
