Can I bring my kids?

Answer

NO. We would like to have a kid free wedding and hope that everyone can enjoy a night out with us. No kids under 12

Do I have to RSVP?

Answer

Yes please! We need everyone to RSVP so we can be sure we have enough chairs/tables, food, and are able to create an accurate seating chart. Even if you do not plan on coming, we would still appreciate if it were marked in the RSVP section.

Is the Bride changing her name?

Answer

NO. Sydney is keeping her last name, Roberts. And no, she will not be hyphenating. Sydney is also NOT adopting the title Mrs. Because of this, we ask that there are no gifts that surround either of our last names and nothing addressed to or containing Mr. and Mrs.

What is the ceremony venue like?

Answer

Our venue is located on Brian's family property. Your GPS may look like it is taking you to the middle of nowhere. The property does not have an actual posted address, but we will be clearly making the path into the property. As this property is off the grid, we would like to warn guests that they may not be able to receive cell service.

What should I wear?

Answer

We want all of our guests to feel comfortable in what they are wearing. That being said, we would appreciate classy or formalwear. We also encourage you to take the venue into consideration. We will be outdoors for the ceremony in a densely wooded area. Please NO cowboy boots We recommend close toes shoes and chunky heels, if any for the ceremony venue. Be sure to keep an eye on the weather at the time, as Iowa's temperatures change so much from year to year that it is hard for us to be able to predict what it will be like.

Will the wedding be livestreamed?

Answer

Unfortunately, we will not be able to livestream the wedding ceremony, as we will have no service, however, it will be recorded.

What is the reception venue like?

Answer

Lake City is roughly a 15-minute drive from the ceremony venue and a 45-minute drive from Jefferson. Yet another small town in the middle of Iowa, the Lake City Community Memorial Building is newly renovated, handicap accessible, and provides a gorgeous, spacious reception venue.

Alcohol?

Answer

We will have a wet bar at the reception. Everyone has to pay for their own alcoholic beverages CASH ONLY and NO outside alcohol is allowed in the building. Outside non-alcoholic drinks are allowed, and we will also be provided water, pop, coffee, and hot chocolate. We would also like to remind everyone who will be drinking to drink responsibly and set up a DD before the wedding. Again, we will be 45 minutes away from Jefferson.

We will be providing a few options as gifts on the registry, however, as we live in a small, temporary apartment we do not want to collect more material things and would rather focus on experiences and starting out life together. That being said, we would appreciate monetary gifts or gift cards (if any) that could help us jump-start our lives together.
