We were both hired to the same unit at Maine Medical Center. As with many new jobs, we had to attend a generic "all new hires" class. It was a full room of probably 75 people. Stewart hadn't been the most prompt that day and when she arrived there were maybe two seats left. Lucky for me, one happened to be to my immediate left. I told myself to play it cool as I hoped this beautiful girl would choose this seat. She did. We ended up talking, and actually tying each other up (we are nurses and had to review restraints). What a first day - and the rest is history. She worked day shift, and I worked night shift. Whenever crossing paths at shift change we would try our best to escape into the locker room to sneak a quick kiss or a romantic chat. I would leave notes in her locker on alcohol swabs to keep her on her toes! She would call me on my work phone when she got home and was going to bed. We no longer work on the same unit, but we still try to coordinate lunch together if we work the same day!
