Lorin and Brian swiped right on each other and instantly formed a connection. A few days after chatting they had their first official date on November 3rd, 2017. Brian picked Lorin up from her dorm at Saint Joseph's College of Maine and they went out on the town of Portland, ME. Their connection was undeniable and they knew right away that they wanted each other in their lives. Soon, they were spending every moment possible together. They began traveling all over New England, cooking meals together, hiking, skiing, going to the gym, and exploring Portland's dynamic food scene. A few years later, Brian accepted a job in Northern Virginia in January 2020 while Lorin finished up her degree at Saint Joseph’s College. After Lorin's graduation, they moved into a little apartment in Falls Church, Virginia. They loved Northern Virginia - frequently visiting their favorite taco joint, enjoying family happy hours at Moe and Jeremy's house, walks through Old Town, Alexandria and the Monuments of Washington DC. but longed to travel further and see the country. In the summer of 2021, they both decided they wanted to travel and took a shot on moving across the country to Salt Lake City, Utah with friends they once lived with in Portland, Maine (Groomsman Aaron Thibeault and Bridesmaid Jenna Thibeault). They spent 9 months in Utah and it was the most fulfilling time of their journey yet. They explored all of Utah's "Mighty 5" National Parks, enjoyed hiking in the Wasatch Mountains, and skied their bums off. Most of all they found out that this love was forever in the making.
On a chilly Monday evening, Brian completely took Lorin’s breath away with a surprise engagement photoshoot. Megan Kelly, also known as the Lightseeker, captured the romantic moment of pure bliss effortlessly on the Bonneville Salt Flats. She had the couple throw rose pedals in the air 3 separate times...and on the 3rd attempt, Brian got down on one knee and asked Lorin to marry him. It was a night they will always remember.
Soon after engagement, Brian and Lorin decided to seize the opportunity and elope in their favorite place, Zion National Park. After only a few short weeks of engagement, quick coordination of an officiant, photographer (Megan Kelly again!), and a couple friends for witnesses, Brian and Lorin were married at the cliffside of the Canyon Overlook Trail at sunrise. While they wished all family and friends could be there - it was a special, intimate moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Soon after their elopement, Brian and Lorin moved to Portland, Oregon. They are loving the community Portland has to offer. In their spare time, they are rocking climbing at the gym, taking trips to the Pacific coast, camping, hiking, or exploring one of the many parks in the city.
