How we met

December 10, 2013

I was on my way home from my brothers graduation in California when I got a text from Jillian Fish asking if I wanted to go to Old Chicago for one of her friends birthday's the following day. I was coaching volleyball at this time and had practice that night, but decided to go up and at least say hi to everyone. When I got there she told me it was Brian's birthday, I had no idea who Brian was. Everyone had been celebrating for a little while and Brian was feeling pretty good. Jill quickly introduced me to Brian and from that moment on he would not leave me alone the whole evening. Somehow at the end of the night I got roped into taking him home. I dropped Brian off at his house and when I got home I noticed he had left all of his possessions in my car. The following day it was a game of tag trying to figure out how to get ahold of someone who knew where I could drop off his belongings. I figured out where to take his things and I dropped them off. The following day I had not heard that he received his belongings so I got ahold of his number to ensure he received his items back. We got to talking and he quickly asked me on a date that weekend and the rest is history.

The Propsal

April 30, 2017

Brian and I had been dating for just over 3 years when we finally decided to go look at rings. I had went looking a couple weeks before and had found one I thought I was in love with. When we got to the jewelry store they told me the ring could not be customized how I wanted it. At this point I figured we would be walking out with no ring that day. Brian wanted to keep looking, so we did. When we found the ring I instantly knew it was the one. Brian asked me if I wanted it and of course I said yes. Within minutes we were checking out with a beautiful diamond ring in hand. When we went to check out the lady had asked if we were engaged and we answered no. She began to tell us that she has never had anyone get proposed in front of her and this was her last day, so how cool would that be. I had a little bit of fear that it was going to happen right then in the store, but instead we left. When we got in the car, still unengaged, I asked if I could wear it and to my surprise Brian said yes. I felt weird wearing it while we were not engaged so I put it back in the box and gave it back to Brian. As we were driving to my parents he kept looking at the ring. I kept thinking maybe he is doubting proposing to me, but to my surprise when we got to my parents he ran in and asked for their permission and moments later got down on one knee and we were engaged. It was very simple and perfect for us.
