Try the Alex & Brett Sunday Drive! Pack some snacks & hit the road as early as possible. 1. You want to start with coffee, preferably from Desierto Alto in Yucca. 2. Enter the park through the West Entrance in Joshua Tree 3. Stop and explore a couple of favorites like Maze Loop Trail, Barker Dam & Skull Rock. 4. Depending on time, dip down to Arch Rock & the Cholla Garden 5. Come out of the park at the North Entrance in 29 Palms. 6. Stop and walk around the grounds of the 29 Palms Inn 7. Grab a beer and some chicken wings at Ground Squirrel 8. Head back on Highway 62 making whatever stops you like! If you're wanting a day like this reach out to us. We've got a google maps list and a Spotify playlist we can send you to really give the full experience.
We love visiting Pioneertown on the weekends. Any given Sunday you can find us post-hike, sitting outside Red Dog Saloon listening to live music, having a beer and housing tacos. It's a great little town that started off as a movie set. There are a few shops, usually some horses walking around, and lots of tourists from LA.
This is our playground. There are a handful of great hikes and they're so close to town. You get a beautiful combination of desert washes, and high vistas with forestry, all in one area. Plus, views of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio Mtns. The Hi-View Trail is nice and short with rewarding views. Then there's longer hikes, like the West Side Loop. Feel free to reach out for specific parking and trail milage.
There's a handful of shops in this area that sell crystals, t shirts, vintage cowboy threads etc.
Our favorite Joshua Tree souvenir shop. We love the owners Steve & Glen.
A local gem right on the side of the road in our town. This place is a great brunch spot with amazing food, good people watching, and atmosphere. It's a place we go on special occasions to treat ourselves. They have had write ups in the LA Times and NY Times. Don't go hungry as there are usually long wait times, but you can get a drink or coffee while you wait. Good for a slow morning.
