It was a hot summer day and the first day of Cross Country practice before Freshmen year of high school. Two white expeditions pulled up to drop off their kids at 6 AM in the morning. Rachel got out of her car to begin her stretches and socialize with her friends before her run. Brennan began to walk to practice, but turned around thinking that his mom had pulled back into the parking lot. He realized it was the same car, but not his mom. Debbie, Rachel's mom, rolled down the window and said "Hey, can you give this water to the tall pretty blonde? You'll know her when you see her." So Brennan grabbed the water and gave it to another blonde (just kidding). He gave Rachel her water bottle and that is where their journey began...

Brennan and Rachel's love story was being written without either of them being aware. They traveled the world together, attended dances together, and hung out with the same crowd...as friends. Even though their family and friends were always team Brennan and Rachel, they both went their own ways and stayed as friends. It was the summer of 2018 and Brennan decided to text Rachel to invite her to dinner. Rachel refused to call it a date, even though they went stargazing after dinner. It wasn't until Rachel's dad said "Rachel you light up like a firefly every time you see him" that she finally decided to give this relationship a chance. On August 2nd, Brennan asked Rachel to be his girlfriend.

Rachel and Brennan flew to Washington DC to visit Brennan's friends from college. Little did Rachel know that the ring was in Brennan's carry-on bag the whole time. The next day was full of adventures, touring around the historical monuments of Washington DC. The one thing Rachel wanted to see was the Reflecting Pond, but everyone was avoiding it the whole day. Towards the end of the day, Rachel, Brennan, and his friends walked down the Lincoln Memorial steps to take a picture in front of the Reflecting Pond. When taking the picture, Rachel hears Brennan say "and one more thing... Rachel Nicole Parlier. Will you marry me?" Rachel of course said YES and Brennan gave her the most beautiful ring.
