Brenden and Krista go way back to times in their diapers growing up together. Then one day, Brenden starting dating & introduced Lauren to the fam, which led to the girls’ indefinite friendship. It all started with them sharing a bed on family vacation and watching survival shows. It then turned into road-tripping, endless sleepovers, girls nights, and everything in between. They’ve been through it all together. Lauren is so #blessed to have Krista in her life as her best friend and soon-to-be sister. It’s fun to have two best friends that are family! Fun fact: Krista and Lauren actually went around Newburgh about 8 years ago and took “sister” pictures.
Nick Zieg
Best Man
One of the younger brothers, Nick and Brenden almost don’t know life without one another. When Brenden is back in Evansville, if he’s not with Lauren he is almost certainly with Nick. If you’re looking for these two, your best chances are the fairway (of the adjacent hole) or Mr. B’s eating a pizza wing combo.
Kasey Hartzell

How do you sum up years of friendship without going into all of the details? Kasey and Lauren go back to college days at Purdue. They’ve been everything from new friends, to DZ sisters, to best friends, to roommates, to now neighbors in Valpo! They can always go to each other for anything: whether it’s to get advice, to have fun, to laugh, to cry, to borrow outfits, or to do literally nothing. They always have an awesome time together no matter what they’re doing. Chances are you’ve seen Kase in a majority of Lauren’s pictures that she posts because they’re almost always together. Lauren isn’t sure where she’d be without Kasey’s endless friendship and support.
Andrew Zieg

Andrew is also one of the younger brothers, but no longer a little brother as he continued to grow taller while Brenden did not. Growing up, the bond of practicing ice hockey and lacrosse drew these two together, as with all siblings they were always trying to one-up each other. These two still make time to go to the rink and see who can skate faster and shoot harder even though they’re now a couple washed up old guys.
Amy Wilson

Lauren and Amy met during their first year of teaching in their “hallway divided” between IU and Purdue when Lauren moved to Eville after college (boiler up). It took maybe a week before they fell right into a genuine friendship. Amy was actually the first great friend that Lauren made in adulthood! Their friendship was too strong to only happen at work, so they started hanging out almost every weekend and merged their friend groups. Once they both moved away from the school, their friendship continued to grow. They are constantly catching up and celebrating big moments together. Lauren doesn’t know how she would’ve survived her first year of teaching without Amy. She feels so lucky to have a coworker that turned into an amazing, lifelong friend.
Collin Zieg

Collin is the youngest sibling of the Zieg crew. As the youngest, Collin was always made to strap on the pads and get in the net which led to fun competition to shoot on but also some bruises. These days, Collin is spending time trying to teach Brenden how to use his PlayStation so that he can hop on COD with the Zieg boys.
Audrey Beckerle

Audrey and Lauren’s friendship started back in high school at the Zieg’s house. It all started when Audrey laughed at Lauren’s joke, and Lauren appreciated that she had a good sense of humor. Little did Lauren know that Audrey was going to be the one making her laugh all of the time. Audrey is so unapologetically herself and is such an inspirational friend to have. She is an influence, sometimes a good one and sometimes a bad one, whichever one Lauren needs at the time. Lol! They always have fun together and will have each others’ backs til the end of time. Who knew you could meet such amazing friends at such a young age?
Billy Moisan

If there is a notable Purdue game in the future, Billy, Brenden, and Lauren are making plans to be in there. Billy is a mutual friend with Lauren and Brenden and always makes sure to bring the life to any party. Any time Brenden and Lauren make their way to Chicago, Billy always makes sure that they have a place to stay after a long night. While Billy became a good friend to the two of them in college after spending almost everyday together, they’re happy that their friendship hasn’t changed at all since they graduated.
Taylor Sisk

Taylor and Lauren became great friends when Lauren moved back to Evansville after college. It started with them getting together with their squad occasionally and quickly changed to them being basically inseparable. There was no question where Lauren was going to be on a Friday night... with Taylor. No matter what they’re doing, they always have an “epic” time (in Tay’s words). Even though they live 5 hours away from each other, they still continue to talk all of the time and always stay up to date on what’s going on in each others’ lives. Lauren misses having Taylor right down the road.
Michael Vale

Michael and Brenden’s lives intersected when they both were part of SABIC’s Co-op program. During Co-op, the two were able to share memorable experiences like grilling at the “Man Mansion”, watching playoff hockey until 3AM on a work night, and working on the golf game. These days Brenden and Michael make time for each other by trading rounds at each other’s clubs talking about who we think is going to win the game that night.
Angela Agelson

Angela and Lauren became close at Purdue while living in the same dorm freshman year of college, then even closer after joining Delta Zeta. Ang and Lauren were constantly together sharing cheesy bread, secrets, good times, and everything in between. So many of Lauren’s memories from college involve Ang. She can light up any room she walks into with her positivity and bubbly personality. Lauren can always count on Ang for her honesty and a great time!
Avery Carlson

Avery had an important role in college-being Brenden and Lauren’s best friends. He was always the hype man, the study partner, sometimes the mediator, the positive vibes, the one to bring the fun, and an overall great friend. Lauren and Brenden used to kid around arguing over who Avery was going to stand by at their future wedding. He is still always there for them through every up and down, big moments, and everything in between & they appreciate his friendship so much.
Jacque Heidorn

Jacque is one of those people that everyone loves to be around. A hype girl, a positive attitude, a girl that brings the party (and the ices lol), and an overall great friend. It’s funny because Lauren remembers her from high school at MHS where they barely talked because Jac was a few years younger. Even though Lauren was “too cool for Jacque” or so she says... Lauren now thinks that Jacque is way too cool for her. Whether it’s brunch at the Hornets Nest, sleepovers on their pallet, or whatever else the days may bring.. Lauren is so blessed to have gained Jacque as a genuine, lifelong friend.
Travis Johnson

Although Travis and Brenden were friends at Purdue University, their friendship didn’t flourish until both Travis and Brenden wound up in Valparaiso, Indiana, post grad. Now next door neighbors, you can probably catch these two hanging out yelling at TVs when the Boilers (or any sports, for that matter) are on, trying new hot sauces, or playing tennis.
Jess Coy

Supportive, fun, confident, honest, and trustworthy. Those are just a few words that come to mind when Lauren thinks about Jess. Their friendship started when they both joined Delta Zeta in 2012. While they were good friends in college, their friendship has continued to grow throughout adulthood. Having sleepovers, celebrations, float trips, FaceTimes, and all of the things.. times have changed since their time on executive board in DZ. Lauren has no doubt that her and Jess’s friendship will just continue to grow as the years go by and make even more awesome memories!
Von Wiltman

Von and Brenden both went to Purdue University, were Chemical Engineering majors with Economics minors, members of the same fraternity, blessed with a 5th year (or “victory lap”), and yes are in fact two different people. Although these days they only get to see each other a couple times a year, they make the most of it whether it is a weekend trip to Vegas (because why not) or a weekend at the Men’s Invitational golf tournament.
Hannah Mason

Lauren and Hannah met at Purdue when they joined DZ together. From day 1, they were inseparable and were soon referred to as twins by everyone around them.. including the Mitchell’s. They did literally everything together in college including choosing the same classes when they could, going to the dining courts together, going to parties, celebrating successes and hiccups, and absolutely everything in between. If you’ve seen pictures of Lauren from college, Hannah was probably in them. Hannah was one of Lauren’s first true friends in college, and Lauren will forever appreciate their friendship. No matter what, they always support each other through it all.
Austin Potts

Oh, Potts... Brenden and Potts joined SAE together at Purdue back in 2012. Soon after is when Lauren started going over there all of the time and stealing Brenden’s friends, including Potts. Lauren and Potts joined their friends together and made their own little squad that got together all of the time. Brenden would come back from class, and Lauren would be over there with Poots welcoming B home. Lauren says Potts is her honorary bridesman. All jokes aside, Brenden and Potts became great friends as well and even lived right beside each other. You can now catch all of us at the Indy Rathskeller on the weekends. Lauren and Brenden would be lost without Potts’ jokes, honesty, and overall friendship. He is truly one of a kind!
Katie Wilfong

Katie and Lauren’s friendship came easily from the first day they met and joined Delta Zeta together. Most of the time in college they could be found near each other, in their dorms or out and about. Lauren always looks to Katie for a good time, cuddles, laughs, advice, and a true, full-hearted friendship. She’s the first person that Lauren texts about new songs that come out, especially Sam Hunt. They can go awhile without talking and still not question where their friendship stands; they always pick up right where they left off. Lauren would do anything for Katie and is so grateful for her friendship.
Bryan Chestnut

Bryan is Lauren and Brenden’s great friend who also happens to be Brenden’s brother-in-law, married to Krista. You can find “Brine” watching Cardinals games, jamming to music, and always having a great time. Bryan’s positivity and supportiveness are what makes him stand out as a person. Brenden feels lucky to have gained Bryan as part of the fam, and Lauren is excited to get to do the same soon!
